Creamy Coconut Mojito – A New Twist on an Old Favorite!
The classic mojito is one of those drinks that never lets you down—bright lime, fresh mint, and a splash of rum that just feels like summer in a glass. But if you’re in the mood to mix things up a little, this creamy coconut version takes everything you love and gives it a smooth, tropical upgrade.
This Creamy Coconut Mojito brings together that crisp citrus and minty freshness with rich coconut cream for a drink that’s equal parts refreshing and indulgent. It’s the kind of cocktail that instantly makes you feel like you should be sitting somewhere warm with your toes in the sand…even if you’re just out on the back porch.

It’s also a great one to serve with food. Think grilled shrimp, coconut-crusted fish, or anything fresh from the grill. The coconut and lime combo plays really well with a little heat too, so it’s perfect alongside spicy Caribbean or Thai dishes when you want something cool and refreshing between bites.

Red, White, Blue & Ready to Party
Good drinks deserve a good setup. Grab some fun 4th of July plates for easy entertaining, then add an iron garden sign and wooden porch sign to bring those patriotic vibes home. It’s quick, it’s festive, and it makes your whole setup feel a little more put together.
Creamy Coconut Mojito Ingredients

- White Rum
- Coconut Rum
- Coconut Water
- Simple Syrup
- Cream of Coconut
- Mint
- Lime Juice
- Limes
Tips
For the Rum: I like to keep it simple and go with a good white rum like Brugal—it’s solid, reliable, and works perfectly here. If you want to lean into the coconut flavor, Blue Chair Bay is a great option. I actually first tried it in the British Virgin Islands and haven’t really looked back since—it has just the right hint of coconut with a little extra something.
When it comes to Cream of Coconut: I usually grab Goya from the international aisle. It’s budget-friendly and does exactly what you need it to do without overthinking it. No need to splurge here.
And for the Lime Juice: Fresh is always the way to go, it makes a noticeable difference in a drink like this. As a quick guide, you’ll need about 1½ limes to get 1 ounce of juice. Bottled works in a pinch, but fresh really brings everything to life.
Bar Tools
Here are some awesome products to help YOU make the most incredible drinks. Impress your family and friends and be the BEST Cocktail Barista in your neighborhood.
Need a great Cocktail Shaker but don’t know which one to buy? Look no further
Martini or cocktail, a good shake makes all the difference in the world so buying a cocktail shaker can seriously step up your at-home drink game. Think about it: no more settling for boring mixed drinks when you can whip up bar-quality cocktails in your kitchen. It’s not just about the fancy presentation (although that’s a fun bonus) but also about how it makes mixing drinks easier and more fun.
I have at least a dozen shakers, but one favorite. The shaker doesn’t leak; you won’t have to hit the shaker against the sink to get the top off, and the cap will measure from 1/2 to 1.5 ounces with clearly marked labels. Measure the perfect amount every time. And it is dishwasher safe!
Plus, once you get the hang of shaking, you’ll feel like a total pro, impressing your friends and yourself with your newfound bartending skills. So why not add a little shake, shake, shake to your life and upgrade your happy hour?
Squeeze the Day: The Must-Have Citrus Tool

Another handy bar tool is the citrus juicer. It makes measuring citrus juices like limes and lemons, a breeze. Measure the perfect amount every time.

Outdoor Bar Setup

Take this drink outside and enjoy the beautiful summer weather. But don’t bring glass on the boat or near the pool. Try these 20-ounce acrylic glasses (shown below). They are perfect for any outdoor occasion. Remember to put a ‘double’ 2 portions of the Creamy Coconut Mojito in the 20-ounce glass. And add lots of ice! If you want a single serving, the 15-ounce acrylic glasses in the photo above are a better choice.

How to Make a Creamy Coconut Mojito
When first opened, the coconut cream will be separated in the can. I pour it into a small-sized bowl and whisk until combined and smooth. The coconut cream can be refrigerated and kept for a week.
Muddle the mint leaves, lime wedges, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker long enough to release the minty flavor, about 15 seconds.
Add the coconut water, cream of coconut, white rum, coconut rum, and lime juice to the shaker. Shake to combine.
Fill the glasses with ice, then pour in the strained liquid, dividing evenly. Top with club soda and stir gently. Garnish with mint leaves.

Final Sip
With a Creamy Coconut Mojito in hand, you’ll get that fresh hit of mint and lime right away, followed by a smooth, coconut finish that makes this one feel a little extra. It’s light, refreshing, and just creamy enough to stand out from your usual mojito.
This is the kind of cocktail that’s perfect for slow summer evenings, backyard hangs, or anytime you want something a little different without overcomplicating it. It’s easy, it’s crowd-friendly, and honestly…kind of hard to stop at just one.
Cheers to the good life!
