Ingredients you’ll need to make these awesome Espresso & Cream Vodka Martini Jello Shots

You’ll need vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso powder, gelatin, sweetened condensed milk, and simple syrup. For this recipe, I used Absolut Vanilia, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur and Veil Whipped Cream Vodka.
To make Jello Shots that are not ‘fruit flavored,’ you have to use gelatin, not Jello. Gelatin can be tricky to work with. But the fantastic thing about gelatin is that you can make any of your favorite cocktails into a Jello Shot. Even your favorite Espresso Martini can be turned into a Jello Shot, the trick here is to add a layer of cream.

Bar and Kitchen Tools
To make your Jello Shots, you’ll need Jello Shot cups. Click here to learn the difference between the 2 most popular styles available. I use the squeezable Jello Shot cups and the flat round Jello Shot cups below.

The second most important item is a large mouth mixing bowl with a spout. The largemouth mixing bowl with a spout makes it easy to pour the liquid into the Jello Shot cups.

I have seen ‘tools’ on Amazon that assist you with filling your Jello Shot cups, but the bowl with the spout works well. Of course, you may have a few drips here and there, but not enough for me to invest in one of those tools.
Best Cocktail Shaker EVER!

Martini or cocktail, a good shake makes all the difference in the world. I have at least a dozen shakers, but this one is my favorite. It doesn’t leak, and the cap is a measuring cup that will measure from 1/2 ounce to 1.5 ounces. And it is dishwasher safe! You can’t go wrong with this shaker.
How to make Espresso & Cream Vodka Martini Jello Shots
First, place 22 Jello Shot cups on a baking sheet. Then pour the Vodka, Kahlua, espresso powder, and simple syrup into a spouted mixing bowl and sprinkle the gelatin on the top.
Gelatin can be tricky to work with the first time you use it in a recipe. If you see it clumping up, you are spreading it too quickly. The secret is to ‘slowly’ sprinkle the gelatin on top of the liquid. This step seems like the longest process in the recipe. If you do have some dry patches, don’t worry.

Let the gelatin mixture sit for 5 minutes. In the meantime, boil your water. Add the boiling water to the gelatin mixture and stir for 3 minutes.

Pour the Espresso Vodka Martini mix into the Jello Shot cups until they are 2/3 full. Put them into the refrigerator for 45 minutes.
Then follow the recipe to make the cream layer. Pour the cream mixture on the top of the espresso-filled jello shot cups and refrigerate for 2 hours before putting on the Jello Shot tops. These Espresso & Cream Vodka Martini Jello Shots can be made 2 days in advance if covered and kept in the refrigerator.

How many ounces of instant espresso do we use, if we can’t find the packets?
Hi – good question. One envelope of Bustelo instant espresso is 2 teaspoons. So, for this recipe you will need 4 teaspoons of instant espresso. Let me know if you need anything else.
