Spiced Tea

Scrub Island Spiced Tea
While checking out the British Virgin Islands my ‘home base’ was the Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina. It was a charming place, with 52 guest accommodations; 10 luxury villas; and a 55 slip marina.

I headed up to the pool bar one late morning and I introduced myself to Stacy. I wanted to try a few of the house specialties so I ordered a number of tropical cocktails like the Scrubslide, Basil Shores and Scrub Island Spiced Tea. The featured drink is the Scrub Island Spiced Tea. This is the BVI version of a Long Island Iced Tea and I’d pick Scrub Island Spiced Tea over Long Island Iced Tea every time.

Ingredients you’ll need to make the Scrub Island Spiced Tea
To make this tropical Spiced Tea add the Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Absolut, Tequila, Triple Sec, lime juice and club soda to a shaker. Shake for 10 seconds and pour into a glass filled with ice. If you don’t have a good shaker, try this one from OXO.

Make sure you try the other great tropical cocktails from the pool bar: Scrubslide and Basil Shores. And don’t forget Stacy’s house specialty, the Blue Passion, my favorite by far.
