This Is Too Good Not to Share — Spread the Word Now:

If you want a cool, crisp drink that feels like sunshine in a glass, the Mojito is your answer. This classic cocktail, born in the warm breezes of Cuba, combines mint, lime, simple syrup, and rum in a fresh and timeless way. Whether sitting on a beach or relaxing on your porch, the Mojito is a perfect way to beat the heat and lift your spirits.

The Mojito stands out because of its balance. It’s not too sweet or tart and just the right amount of bubbly. The fresh mint leaves give it a garden-fresh feel, while the lime adds a bright, citrusy kick. The white rum brings it all together with a gentle warmth that’s easy to sip but full of flavor.

Martini or cocktail, a good shake makes all the difference in the world so buying a cocktail shaker can seriously step up your at-home drink game. Think about it: no more settling for boring mixed drinks when you can whip up bar-quality cocktails in your kitchen. It’s not just about the fancy presentation (although that’s a fun bonus) but also about how it makes mixing drinks easier and more fun.

I have at least a dozen shakers, but one favorite. The shaker doesn’t leak; you won’t have to hit the shaker against the sink to get the top off, and the cap will measure from 1/2 to 1.5 ounces with clearly marked labels. Measure the perfect amount every time. And it is dishwasher safe!

Plus, once you get the hang of shaking, you’ll feel like a total pro, impressing your friends and yourself with your newfound bartending skills. So why not add a little shake, shake, shake to your life and upgrade your happy hour?

If you like Mojitos, another handy bar tool is the muddler. A muddler is used for crushing herbs and fruits for cocktails.

How to Make a Rum Mojito

Muddle the mint leaves, lime wedges, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker long enough to release the minty flavor, about 15 seconds.

Add the white Rum and lime juice to the shaker. Shake to combine.

Fill a highball glass 3/4 with ice, then pour the contents of the shaker into the glass.

If some ingredients are stuck in the bottom of the shaker, add the club soda to the shaker, swirl gently, and then pour the contents into the glass. Otherwise, top the glass with club soda and stir gently.

Garnish with a mint sprig and a lime wedge.
