A trio of taste awaits. Ice cold and sparkling, tangy and bittersweet. The Dark & Stormy!

While I was in the British Virgin Islands Captain Jaime told me about the Dark & Stormy cocktail. He said that the drink got its name from a boat race called the Dark and Stormy Regatta to Anegada in the British Virgin Islands.

I’m not sure how true the story is but I did enjoy listening.

Ingredients you’ll need to make a Dark & Stormy

  • Dark Rum
  • Lime Juice
  • Ginger Beer

The Dark and Stormy is made with dark rum, which is a twist to the original Moscow Mule, which uses Vodka. The dark rum gives it a richer taste.

How to make a Dark & Stormy

Fill a tall glass with ice.

Add the Rum, Ginger Beer and lime juice to the glass and still gently.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Ounces Dark Rum
  • 3 Ounces Ginger Beer
  • 1/2 Ounce Lime Juice I use Realime Juice but you can always use freshly squeezed
  • Ice
  • Slice of lime for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Fill a glass with ice
  • Add the Rum, Ginger Beer and Lime Juice
  • Garnish with a lime slice
