I love Jello Shots because they have great fruit flavors and sparkling colors. BUT this is football season, and for Super Bowl Jello Shots, it’s time to go beyond basic fruity flavors and rainbow colors and explore the variety offered by flavored Vodka, Rum, and Whiskey. Tailgating should be a fun and flavorful experience and using different spirits can make your Jello Shots stand out.

Think about the rich taste of caramel whiskey, the spicy kick of cinnamon rum, or the bold taste of banana bourbon in your Jello Shots. These flavors add a unique twist and cater to a more adventurous appetite. So, skip the usual and make your Super Bowl game day memorable with Jello Shots that bring a new flavor to the party!

Super Bowl LIX Jello Shots Ingredients

Ingredients for College Football Jello Shots
Ingredients for Super Bowl Jello Shots
  • Flavored Vodka, Rum or Whiskey
  • Gelatine
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Simple Syrup
  • .70-ounce Gel Food Color in both team colors

Here’s a sampling of some of my favorite flavors:

Vodka – Chocolate, Caramel, Coconut, Gingerbread, Apple, Mango, Pineapple, Red Berry, Peach, Marshmallow and Cookie Dough
Rum – Peach, Strawberry, Watermelon, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Lime, Mango, Lemon, Tropical, Spiced
Whiskey – Vanilla, Blackberry, Salted Caramel, Peach, Apple, Peanut Butter

Tips

For the recipe in this post, I used Whipped Cream Vodka. For flavored vodkas, I like Veil and Pinnacle; they are both reasonably priced.

When purchasing gel food coloring, Chefmaster and AmeriColor are your best bets. Decopac is watered down and has an unusual scent. You’ll have to use more color, and your jello shots may taste odd.

Need a great Cocktail Shaker but don’t know which one to buy? Look no further

Here is an awesome product to help YOU make the most incredible drinks. Impress your family and friends and be the BEST Cocktail Barista in your neighborhood.

Easy to Read Measuring Cap
Easy to Read Measuring Cap – Included

Martini or cocktail, a good shake makes all the difference in the world so buying a cocktail shaker can seriously step up your at-home drink game. Think about it: no more settling for boring mixed drinks when you can whip up bar-quality cocktails in your kitchen. It’s not just about the fancy presentation (although that’s a fun bonus) but also about how it makes mixing drinks easier and more fun.

I have at least a dozen shakers, but one favorite. The shaker doesn’t leak; you won’t have to hit the shaker against the sink to get the top off, and the cap will measure from 1/2 to 1.5 ounces with clearly marked labels. Measure the perfect amount every time. And it is dishwasher safe!

Plus, once you get the hang of shaking, you’ll feel like a total pro, impressing your friends and yourself with your newfound bartending skills. So why not add a little shake, shake, shake to your life and upgrade your happy hour?

Bar & Kitchen Tools

Jello-Shot Cups
Jello-Shot Cups

To make your Jello Shots, you’ll need Jello Shot cups. Click here to learn the differences between the 3 different styles of Jello Shot cups. I use the squeezable Jello Shot cups, the flat round Jello Shot cups above, and the square Jello Shot cups.

Large Spouted Mixing Bowl
Large Spouted Mixing Bowl with Handle

The second most important item is a large, spouted mixing bowl with a handle. This bowl makes pouring the liquid into the Jello Shot cups easy. I have seen ‘tools’ on Amazon that assist you with filling your Jello Shot cups, but the bowl with the spout works well. Of course, you may have a few drips here and there, but I need more to invest in one of those tools.

How to make Kansas City Chiefs Jello Shots

First, place 26 Jello Shot cups on a baking sheet.

To Make the First Team Color

Pour the liquor (Vodka, Rum, or Whiskey) and simple syrup into the spouted mixing bowl and sprinkle the Gelatin on top. Gelatin can be tricky to work with when using it the first time. The secret is to ‘slowly’ sprinkle the Gelatin on top of the liquid. If you see it clumping up, you are spreading it too quickly.

Let the gelatin mixture sit for 7 minutes. If you do have some dry patches, don’t worry. Ensure your water is boiling for the next step.

In the meantime, boil the water. Add your Super Red Gel Food Color to the boiling water and stir until combined.

Then, pour the water and food coloring mixture into the gelatin mixture and stir for 3 minutes.

Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir until combined well.

Slowly pour the mixture into your Jello Shot cups until they are half full.

Refrigerate for 1 hour before starting the top layer.

To Make the Second Team Color

Pour the liquor (Vodka, Rum, or Whiskey) and simple syrup into the spouted mixing bowl and sprinkle the Gelatin on top.

Let the gelatin mixture sit for 7 minutes. If you do have some dry patches, don’t worry. Ensure your water is boiling for the next step.

In the meantime, boil the water. This time, use the Gold Gel Food Color and add it to the boiling water, stirring until combined.

Then, pour the water and food color mixture into the gelatin mixture and stir for 3 minutes.

Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir until combined well.

Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes. Stir mixture.

Top off the Jello cups with your second color and refrigerate for 2 hours before placing the lids on the cups. Jello Shots can be made 2 days in advance and refrigerated until ready to serve.
