Lemon Drop Vodka Martini
I find it odd that we drink lemonade all summer yet Meyer Lemons don’t ripen until October. As you can see from the photos my Meyer lemons are just about ready to harvest but I’m not sure they will ripen before I have to bring my tree inside. It’s been fun watching this tiny little tree produce these big lemons. What better use for my Meyer lemons than a Lemon Drop Martini!
Ok, back to the Martini. Lemon Drop Vodka Martinis are my ‘go to’ Martini, I just love them. They are refreshing and full of vitamin C. Can you imagine having a ‘healthy’ martini and they are only 3 ingredients. Pour the citron vodka, non-alcoholic triple sec and lemon juice into a shaker, let it sit for a few minutes and you are done. If you don’t have a good shaker, try this one from OXO. Adjusting the ingredients based on your taste preference is easy as well. For example, if the recipe is too tart, reduce the lemon juice, if it is too sweet, reduce the non-alcoholic triple sec. And if it tastes too strong, you didn’t let the drink get “it’s melt on”. That’s the secret here. You can find out what that means by checking out my tips and tricks in the very near future.
As you can see from my photo I have 2 different non-alcoholic triple sec syrups. My favorite is the Fee Brothers on the left, but it is really hard to find. I get it at Green’s Discount Liquor in SC. You can buy the Cocktail Artist Triple Sec Syrup on the right from Walmart. But if you don’t mind spending a few extra dollars there is an excellent Triple Sec Syrup that I bought on Amazon, but it is a bit pricey. No matter which one you choose, you won’t be disappointed in the Lemon Drop Martini.
