Lemon Drop Martinis are tangy, sweet, and make my mouth water. Besides tasting fabulous, they are refreshing and full of vitamin C. Can you imagine having a ‘healthy’ martini made with just 3 ingredients. A Lemon Drop Martini is my ‘go-to’ Martini; I love them.
I have this tiny Meyer Lemon tree, but as you can see from the photos, my lemons are giant for the size of the tree. It’s been fun watching this tiny little tree produce these big lemons. What better use for my Meyer lemons than a Lemon Drop Martini!
Lemon Drop Martini Ingredients
You will need a good citrus vodka. I’ve tried numerous brands, but I always return to Absolut Citron. Ketel One Citroen would be my second choice.
Then you’ll need a non-alcoholic triple sec syrup. As you can see from my photo, I have 2 different non-alcoholic triple sec syrups. Fee Brothers on the left is my favorite but difficult to find. I get it at Green’s Discount Liquor in SC. You can buy the Cocktail Artist Triple Sec Syrup on the right from Walmart.

You can also try 1883 Maison Routin, another excellent but more expensive Triple Sec Syrup I bought here. No matter your choice, you won’t be disappointed in the Lemon Drop Martini.
Next, you can’t make a great martini without a great shaker. I have at least a dozen shakers, but this one from OXO is my favorite. It doesn’t leak, and the cap will measure from 1/2 to 1.5 ounces. Dishwasher safe, you can’t go wrong with OXO.
And don’t forget the chilled martini glass. Nothing is worse than a martini in a warm glass. Check out these 2 I recommend: Joy Jolt set of 6 martini glasses in multi-colors and Crafthouse by Fortessa, set of 4 martini glasses. They are both dishwasher safe. Joy Jolt is a short martini glass, great for stacking in the freezer, and the Crafthouse by Fortessa is tall and elegant. Still, finding a good spot to lay it down in the freezer is harder.
How to make a Lemon Drop Martini
Pour the citron vodka, non-alcoholic triple sec, and lemon juice into a shaker half filled with ice and let it sit for a few minutes. If you don’t have a good shaker, try this one from OXO. I have a lot of shakers, but this one is my favorite. It doesn’t leak, and it’s dishwasher safe.
Optional: Rim your martini glass. Put the sugar on a small plate. Rub the slice of lemon around the rim of the martini glass, then place the upside-down martini glass into the sugar.
Adjusting the ingredients based on your taste preference is easy as well. For example, reduce the lemon juice if the recipe is too tart; if it is too sweet, reduce the non-alcoholic triple sec. And if it tastes too strong, you didn’t let the drink get “it’s melt on”. You need to let it sit in the shaker for 2 minutes. That’s the secret.
