The Sensational Watermelon Vodka Cocktail: The Icy Cold Melon Mixer
When the sun’s out and the temps start climbing, there’s nothing better than a cold, refreshing cocktail to cool things down. Summer is the perfect time to play around with fresh, juicy flavors—and this one checks all the boxes. Meet the Melon Mixer, a light and refreshing drink that pairs smooth vodka with sweet, watermelon puree.
This cocktail is basically summer in a glass. Vodka keeps it clean and easy to sip, while the watermelon puree brings that fresh, juicy sweetness. A splash of sweet and sour mix adds a little citrusy kick, and the club soda finishes it off with a nice, fizzy touch.

The Melon Mixer will elevate any occasion, whether lounging by the pool, hosting a backyard barbecue, or simply unwinding after a long day. Its bright colors and irresistible flavors make it a crowd-pleaser for your guests to return for more. The Melon Mixer cocktail will cool you off and chill you out!

Melon Mixer Ingredients

- Absolut Vodka
- Watermelon Puree
- Sweet & Sour Mix
- Club Soda
- Watermelon Chunks for Garnish
Tips
Use good quality spirits. The better the ingredients, the better your cocktail will taste. I like to use either Stoli (Stolichnaya), Absolut, or Ketel One Vodka for mixed drinks. They are good-quality, mid-priced vodkas.
I tried both the Watermelon Puree and the Watermelon Syrup. Using the Watermelon Syrup makes a terrible tasting cocktail. The Watermelon Puree is the only way to go.

Bar Tools
Here is an awesome product to help YOU make the most incredible drinks. Impress your family and friends and be the BEST Cocktail Barista in your neighborhood.
Need a great Cocktail Shaker but don’t know which one to buy? Look no further
Martini or cocktail, a good shake makes all the difference in the world so buying a cocktail shaker can seriously step up your at-home drink game. Think about it: no more settling for boring mixed drinks when you can whip up bar-quality cocktails in your kitchen. It’s not just about the fancy presentation (although that’s a fun bonus) but also about how it makes mixing drinks easier and more fun.
I have at least a dozen shakers, but one favorite. The shaker doesn’t leak; you won’t have to hit the shaker against the sink to get the top off, and the cap will measure from 1/2 to 1.5 ounces with clearly marked labels. Measure the perfect amount every time. And it is dishwasher safe!
Plus, once you get the hang of shaking, you’ll feel like a total pro, impressing your friends and yourself with your newfound bartending skills. So why not add a little shake, shake, shake to your life and upgrade your happy hour?
The Right Glass Matters
A good highball glass is one of those bar essentials you’ll reach for again and again. It’s perfect for everything from simple mixed drinks to cocktails, and a sturdy, stylish glass just makes every drink feel a little more special.

Summer Bar Setup

And remember the glasses. This drink is meant to be enjoyed outside in the beautiful summer weather. You don’t want to take glass on the boat or by the pool, so the 20-ounce acrylic glasses (shown below) are perfect for any outdoor occasion. Remember to put a ‘double’ 2 portions of the Melon Mixer in the 20-ounce glass. If you want a single serving, the 15-ounce acrylic glasses in the photo above are a better choice. Remember, add lots of ice!

Large Batch of Melon Mixer
I didn’t want to waste the watermelon puree so I made a pitcher of Melon Mixers for my 4th of July party. They can be made one day in advance and stored in the refrigerator without ice. When you are ready to serve, add ice to the pitcher instead of the club soda. Everyone will love the Melon Mixer!
