How to make Smoked Salmon with Crispy Shallots
Mix together the sour cream, dill and lemon juice in a small bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Melt the butter and the olive oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced shallots and saute until golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes.

Transfer sauteed shallots to paper towels to drain completely. Shallot pieces will crisp as they cool.

Arrange crackers on a plate. Spread a thin layer of dilled cream over each cracker.

Carefully arrange smoked salmon slices atop each cracker. Spoon a small amount of dilled cream on top of the salmon and then sprinkle with the crispy shallots.

Smoked Salmon with Crispy Shallots
Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons Sour Cream
- 2 Teaspoons Chopped Fresh Dill I use scissors and cut my dill, it's faster
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Oil
- 2 Large Shallots thinly sliced
- Crackers
- 1 Package Smoked Salmon
Instructions
- Whisk sour cream, dill and lemon juice in a small bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Melt butter and oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced shallot, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and saute on medium until golden brown, 3 – 4 minutes. Transfer sauteed shallots to a paper towel to drain, shallot pieces will crisp as they cool.
- Arrange crackers on a platter. Spread a thin layer of dilled cream over each cracker. Carefully arrange salmon slices on top. Spoon a small dollop of dilled cream on top of each, then sprinkle with the crispy shallots and serve.
