Easy Crab Spread Recipe for Parties & Appetizers
If you need an easy appetizer that can be made ahead, this creamy Crab Spread is a classic party favorite. Made with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Miracle Whip, and crabmeat, it comes together quickly and is perfect for serving with crackers, toasted bread, or fresh vegetables.
What makes this Crab Spread especially easy is that you can use either imitation crab or real shredded crabmeat. I’ve made it both ways, and they are equally delicious. The photo at the top of the post shows the spread made with imitation crab, while the photo below show it made with shredded crabmeat.

This is the kind of simple appetizer I love for entertaining because it can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated until you’re ready to serve. Whether you’re putting together a cocktail party, holiday gathering, game-day spread, or casual get-together, this creamy crab appetizer is an easy addition to your party table.

How to Make Crab Spread
Add all of the ingredients to a medium sized bowl. I used a 3 quart mixing bowl with a rubber bottom and grip.

Stir until combined well.

Crab spread can be made 24 hours in advance and refrigerated until ready to serve. Serve with crackers, pita chips, naan bread, or vegetables.
