First Color

  • Place 26 – 2 oz Jello Shot cups on a baking sheet
  • Pour the liquor into a large, spouted mixing bowl
  • Slowly sprinkle the gelatin on top of the liquor making sure to sprinkle it evenly across the top of the liquid
  • Let the gelatin absorb the liquid for 7 minutes
  • In the meantime, add the water and sugar to a small saucepan and heat on low, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves
  • Then bring the water and sugar mixture to a simmer
  • Add the burnt orange gel food coloring to the water mixture and stir until well combined
  • Add the water mixed with the food coloring to the gelatin mix and stir until the gelatin is dissolved, at least 3 minutes
  • Now add the sweetened condensed milk and stir well
  • Pour the mixture into the Jello Shot cups until they are 1/2 full
  • Refrigerate the 1/2 full Jello Shot cups at least 1 hour before starting the second layer

Second Color

  • Pour the liquor into a large, spouted mixing bowl
  • Slowly sprinkle the gelatin on top of the liquor making sure to sprinkle it evenly across the top of the liquid
  • Let the gelatin absorb the liquid for 7 minutes
  • In the meantime, add the water and sugar to a small saucepan and heat on low, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves
  • Then bring the water and sugar mixture to a simmer
  • Add the water mixture to the gelatin mix and stir until the gelatin is dissolved, at least 3 minutes
  • Now add the sweetened condensed milk and stir well
  • Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes and stir
  • Top off the refrigerated Jello shots with the second Team color
  • Refrigerate at least 3 hours before placing the caps on the Jello Shot cups
  • Serve Chilled. Can be made 2 days in advance

Notes

Tips
Jello Shot consistency is a matter of personal preference. This recipe will make firm and wiggly Jello Shots. If you prefer a softer, more jiggly Jello Shot, add 1 additional ounce of liquor and 1 extra ounce of water.
If you want a darker color, add a tablespoon of hot water and 1/4 teaspoon of gel food coloring to a small bowl and stir until combined. Then, add the food coloring mixture to your gelatin mixture and mix well.
