Easy Warm Crab Dip (Budget-Friendly with Imitation Crab)
When you need a last-minute appetizer that feels a little special but doesn’t require a ton of effort, this warm crab dip is the one to make. It’s creamy, savory, and comes together in just minutes—no complicated steps, no fancy equipment, just a handful of ingredients and a microwave.
Remove the crab from the packaging and gently pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess liquid. This helps keep the dip creamy, not watery.
In a medium microwave-safe bowl, add the butter and cheese.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the butter and the cheese are melted. The mixture will look separated.
Stir in the sherry until fully incorporated.
Gently mix in the imitation crab, making sure it’s evenly distributed throughout the dip.
Return the bowl to the microwave for 30–60 seconds, just until everything is warmed through.
Transfer the dip to a serving dish, a fondue pot, or a small crock pot to keep it warm. If using a fondue pot or crock pot, set the temperature to medium-low to keep the dip warm and creamy without overheating.
