You will need a rum, pineapple juice and cream of coconut. I typically buy the Goya cream of coconut in the international section of my grocery store.

You’ll need to shake the can well before use and you may have to put it into a bowl and whisk for 10 seconds. It is less expensive than the Coco Real drink mix cream of coconut but really has a natural coconut flavor.

Of course, if you are in a hurry, then use the prepared Coco Real drink cream of coconut. All you have to do is just squeeze it into your measuring cap and pour it into the blender. And if you want to try a tropical cocktail recipe Pina Colada with a twist, swap the rum for Amaretto and you’ll have a Pina Colada that tastes like Almond Joy. Yummy!

How to make a Pina Colada

This tropical cocktail recipe is easy to make. Just add the rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice and ice to a blender and blend for 30 seconds. Pour the mixture into a tall glass and garnish with pineapple.

If you don’t have a blender, you can add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake well. Pour the contents of the shaker into a glass filled with crushed ice and top it off with a pineapple garnish. If you don’t have a good shaker, try this one from OXO.
