When celebrating special moments, there’s nothing as luxurious and festive as a glass of champagne. However, to elevate your celebration further, consider adding a touch of sophistication with a Champagne Royale. This delightful champagne cocktail combines the effervescence of champagne with Chambord’s rich and fruity flavors, creating a drink that’s visually stunning and tantalizing to the taste buds.

You’ll encounter sensory pleasures even before the first sip of the champagne cocktail. First, the sound of the pop of the cork. Then, the tiny bubbles tickle your nose, sending champagne and raspberry aromas into the air.

Tip

Need to know what champagne to buy? I am not a champagne connoisseur. I’ve tried expensive champagnes like Dom Pérignon, Jouet, and Veuve Clicquot. But if I’m mixing a champagne cocktail, I tend to stay under $15 a bottle. Sweet champagnes are my preference, but until recently, I didn’t know Brut meant unsweet and Extra Dry sweet. As you can see from the photo, I settled on Korbel Extra Dry.

You can’t have a champagne cocktail without champagne flutes. Well, you can, but it’s just not the same. If you don’t have any champagne flutes, try these, they are simple yet elegant.

How to make Champagne Royale

Start by chilling your champagne thoroughly. A well-chilled base will enhance the overall experience of your cocktail.

Pour the Chambord into a chilled champagne flute. Top it off with no more than 5 ounces of champagne and stir gently.

Fresh berries (optional): Garnish your cocktail with fresh berries like raspberries or blackberries to enhance the overall presentation and add a burst of natural sweetness. Now enjoy the bubbles.

Note

It would be best if you had champagne flutes that are 8 ounces or less. The larger the champagne flute, the less the recipe will fill your glass. More champagne also changes the taste of the cocktail.
